Immanuel Prayer: Connecting with Jesus
Immanuel means “God with us.” That promise is at the heart of Immanuel Prayer: an invitation to become more aware of Jesus’ presence and connect with Him personally in everyday life.
The Immanuel Approach was developed by Christian psychiatrist Dr. Karl Lehman and psychologist and theologian Dr. James Wilder. It brings prayerful conversation with Jesus alongside an understanding of how we experience relationships and store memories. In a session, you may bring a difficult emotion, a painful memory, or a current challenge to Jesus and ask to see it from His perspective.
The goal is intimacy with Him. As we learn to recognize His presence, we can bring more of our lives into that relationship, including places where fear or hurt has made connection difficult. Jesus meets us with love and peace, helping us see ourselves, other people, and our circumstances with fresh eyes.
This is a journey, not a quick fix or a promise of instant healing. Each prayer time offers an opportunity to grow in trust and practice staying connected to Jesus. Over time, that connection can make room for emotional healing and a deeper sense of being loved and secure.
Wherever you are on your journey, Immanuel Prayer begins with this simple hope: Jesus is with you.
